Difference Between Project and Attendance Time
When you set up the module “Time Management”, you are asked whether you want to book your time to projects or simply as attendance time. You might be wondering what the difference is. The best way to explain this is with two simple examples.
Attendance Time
A classic example for this would be the normal office routine. It does not matter what exactly you have done or for which client you were working for. At the end of the day, you enter the time you have worked.
On Atlanto, the project called “Presence time” serves this exact purpose. Do not let the term “project” put you off, just enter “Attendance time” under project and task. You will only have to do this the first time, after that the information is saved and you can enter your time as usual.
Project Time
In many companies, exact records must be kept of how much time was spent on which projects in order to send an invoice to the client afterwards. A gardner, for example, has to document how many hours his employees have spent on a particular client. Atlanto offers the option to create different projects with corresponding tasks. When recording work hours, you can easily choose which task you have completed for which project.
Invoice the project unter Time Entries later, and bill your clients with one click. For more detailed information on the subject of “Accounting for Projects”, read our article ” Time Entries”.
