What Is The Difference Between An Ordinary Invoice And The QR Bill?
The difference lies in the Swiss QR code. It contains all the information in digital form that is required for the payment of an invoice. With the traditional invoice, typing the reference number (the payment slip is not always registered properly) can sometimes lead to errors. Since the QR code can be scanned, this problem is eliminated with a QR bill.
What Is A QR Bill?
As the name suggests, there is a Swiss QR code on the invoice. The code contains all the information necessary for automatic payment and posting. In other words, it contains data on the invoice in digital form. The QR bill consists of a payment section and a receipt. Since the most important data, such as name and address of the biller, the QR reference and the QR IBAN are included in the Swiss QR code, the issuing and payment of bills is simplified. This means that your company will have less manual effort and less susceptibility to errors in the future.

We recommend that all billers switch to invoicing via QR bill. In addition, we recommend that all billers inform their customers (bill recipients) about the QR bill and point out the changeover of standing orders so that payments can continue to run smoothly after September.
Standing Orders Must Also Be Converted
Standing orders based on the current orange and red payment slips will no longer be executed as of 30.09.2022 and must therefore be adjusted by the invoice recipients.
Bill Recipient – How To Enter A New Standing Order
The invoice recipient should check whether the standing orders he has made have been set up by means of orange or red payment slips. If this is the case, the old standing orders must be deleted and new standing orders entered. These are now to be based on a QR invoice. If the bank data such as QR-IBAN are not available, you as the invoice recipient can request them from your biller.
What Tools Are Needed To Scan The QR Code?
As the Swiss QR code is machine-readable, the recipient needs either a hand-held scanner or a smartphone to scan the code.
How To Pay A QR Bill?
The easiest way to enter the bill is to scan the Swiss QR code. After that, you can check the payment information. You can pay via smartphone, e-banking or by post, either directly at the counter or by payment order.
