Atlanto does not have a specific function for partial payments. It is not possible to generate two payment slips for the same invoice, nor are structured receivables created in the accounting.
In this FAQ, we show you workarounds for how you can still process partial payments with Atlanto.
Creating invoices
Create a separate invoice for each partial payment. This option is the cleanest and also the easiest to process, especially when we also consider the matching of bank transactions.
If the partial payment has already been made, see FAQ ‘Payments on account’.
Posting
After your customer has made a partial payment, there are two options for posting your receivable:
Bank transactions option
You can find these in Atlanto under bank transactions and match them with the receivable. Go to Accounting/Bank transactions, select the corresponding account receipt and choose ‘Post (receivable)’.

You can then select the relevant receivable and it will be reduced automatically.
Manual option
Go to Accounting/Receivables, select the relevant receivable directly and click ‘Settle open positions’.

Enter the amount of the partial payment in the ‘Amount received’ field. The receivable is automatically reduced by the corresponding amount.

Problems
• Partial payments can no longer be deleted independently (takes at least two weeks, as our developers have to do this)
• New amount is displayed under receivables (not the original amount of the receivable)
• When VAT settlement category is “collected”, VAT is immediately due for the entire amount
• Caution is advised when reconciling open receivables (comparison with previously generated lists)
